Dr. Harker said Soni's PET scan looked good -- no metabolic activity and the one lump they keep watching has not changed in size. She did learn that she was supposed to have a Port Flush every month, but no had ever mentioned that to us and the last time the port was even used was a year ago at her last chemotherapy treatment. They were afraid that by now it would be plugged up, but when they flushed it, everything worked just fine. So other than a port flush every month now, she is good to go for another 6 months. Actually, she will see the doctor in 3 months for a check-up, but she won't have another PET scan until 6 months.

Soni had her PET-scan on the Thursday 4/09/09 before we left for Arkansas on Fri. 4/10/09.
We returned on Tue. night 4/14/09 and we met with Dr. Harker on Fri. 4/17/09 and received a very positive & encouraging report.
He said the cancer that had been there was even smaller now and there was very minimal activity. She is to see him again in 3 months in July and will probably do another PET-scan in Oct. So at the moment we are all very pleased. Keep us in your prayers.

Soni & I saw Dr.Harker on Monday, 1/12/09. Then we flew out that same morning to Terry's funeral in Missouri. We just returned Wednesday morning, so that is why I am late in posting this report. The doctor says it is not as clear as he would have liked, but the growth that was in the stomach is still very small and there is no new activity... just a few small pieces of unknown activity. So rather than taking any further action now, he wants to do a "wait & see" for 3 month. She is scheduled for another PET-scan in April.
